In many cases, complex phenomena in the real world are represented by constructing simple, idealized models. Models raise important questions in the philosophy of science, but two of them are more fundamental than the others. The first is what models are basically, and the second is how models represent the world. In this paper, we mainly address the first question, ontology of models, in the context of fictionalism about scientific models, but we show that the two questions are intertwined and that the answer to the ontological question limits our answers to the question of representation. In theoretical modeling, scientists often make assumptions that do not hold in the physical world. Scientists, on the other hand, "pretend" that there are "entities" in the world about which what the model describes is true. One of the fascinating solutions that has been proposed in recent years regarding the ontology of theoretical models is an approach called "fictionalism" in which the concept of "pretend play" and "make-believe" is used to answer the ontological question.}, keywords = {fictionalism,scientific models,Theoretical Models,make-believe,direct representation,indirect representation,referentialism}, title_fa = {داستان‌پردازی و مدل‌سازی: هستی‌شناسی داستان‌انگارانه و مسئلۀ بازنمایی در مدل‌های علمی}, abstract_fa = {دانشمندان جهان را به کمک ابزارهایی گوناگون بازنمایی می‌کنند و یکی از مهم‌ترین ابزارهای آنان مدل‌های علمی است. در بسیاری مواقع، پدیده‌های پیچیده در جهان واقعی با ساخت مدل‌هایی ساده و ایدئال‌شده بازنمایی می‌شوند. مدل‌ها سؤالات مهمی در فلسفة علم مطرح می‌کنند، اما از میان آنها دو سؤال اساسی‌تر از بقیه است. نخست اینکه مدل‌ها اصولاً چیستند، و دوم اینکه مدل‌ها چگونه جهان را بازنمایی می‌کنند. ما در این نوشته عمدتاً به پرسش نخست، هستی‌شناسی و چیستی مدل‌ها، در چهارچوب داستان‌انگاری مدل‌های علمی می‌پردازیم، اما نشان می‌دهیم این دو پرسش درهم‌تنیده‌اند و پاسخی که به پرسش هستی‌شناختی می‌دهیم، پاسخ‌های ما به پرسش بازنمایی را محدود و مقید می‌کند. در مدل‌سازی نظری، دانشمندان معمولاً فرض‌هایی مطرح می‌کنند که در جهان فیزیکی برقرار نیست. از سوی دیگر، دانشمندان چنین «وانمود» می‌کنند که «گویی» چیزهایی در جهان وجود دارند که آنچه مدل توصیف می‌کند دربارة آنها صادق است. یکی از راه‌حل‌های جذابی که در سال‌های اخیر در خصوص هستی‌شناسی مدل‌های نظری مطرح شده رویکردی موسوم به «داستان‌انگاری» است که در آن برای پاسخ به سؤال هستی‌شناختی به مفهوم «بازی وانمودی» و «باورآوری» توسل می‌شود. ادعا شده است مدل‌های علمی از سنخ داستان‌هایی هستند که از آنها در بازی‌های تخیلی استفاده می‌شود.}, keywords_fa = {fictionalism,scientific models,Theoretical Models,make-believe,direct representation,indirect representation,referentialism}, url = {http://www.javidankherad.ir/article_148837.html}, eprint = {http://www.javidankherad.ir/article_148837_3012ed69b93af5521928a202fae3c4ab.pdf} }
