The only path to achieve the knowledge of Divine Essence is through Divine Essence itself.  It means the Essence of Divine cannot be perceived by others since there are no others whom can be Divine Gnostic.  By annihilation in Divine, Human being is emancipated from himself and becomes subsistence in God. In this situation, the union of the bounded existence and the Absolute Existence can be revealed to man. The result of this vision is the elimination of the duality between the human and the Essence. Since the human’s essence is united to Divine Essence, the knowledge of Divine Essence is possible. In fact, the Essence of Divine in human being knows the Essence of God and the man only observe this unity and become Divine Gnostic. Therefore, the existence of human remains while the knowledge of Divine Essence is possible. از نظر شاه نعمت‌الله ولی، ادراک ذات الهی توسط حس، وهم، خیال و عقل ناممکن است. اما با کشف و مشاهدۀ تام می‌توان به معرفت ذات الهی رسید. معرفت ذات فقط از طریق خود ذات امکان‌پذیر است؛ یعنی ذات الهی توسط غیر نمی‌تواند شناخته شود؛ زیرا غیری وجود ندارد تا بتواند عارف ذات شود. انسان با فنا از وجود مقید خود به ذات حق باقی می‌گردد. اما تعین از انسان کاملاً مرتفع نمی‌شود، فقط شاهد اتصال وجود مقید خویش به وجود مطلق می‌گردد. حاصل این شهود رفع دوئیت میان او و ذات است و چون ذات از خویش غایب نیست، عارف ذات می‌شود. اما این معرفت او از حیث بشریت و وجود مقید او نیست، بلکه از آن حیث است که به ذات واصل است. پس در واقع ذات است که عارف ذات است و انسان شاهد این معرفت می‌شود. در این صورت، هم عین انسان باقی است و هم معرفت ذات امکان دارد. http://www.javidankherad.ir/article_32813_efe2d4536fbb724f90ef5135b2899251.pdf
