But some theologians believe that these approaches are inadequate and so they prefer theology with mystical and illuminative approach. According to this approach, which has supporters in all religions, the task of theology is not to explain and describe the theological doctrines and then prove them by reason and religion. In fact, the task is to know God and to get closer to him by Divine illumination. One of the advocates of this approach in Christianity, following Augustine, is Bonaventure, a scholastic theologian in the 13^th century. Bonaventure believes that there exists no firm theological order without divine illumination and the light of faith; that is, without divine illumination, human beings cannot know and attain any truths. در الهیات، ما بیشتر با رویکردهای کلامی و فلسفی و راه‌یابی به عالم ربوبیت از طریق عقل و نقل مواجه هستیم. اما برخی از الهی‌دانان این رویکرد را ناکارامد دانسته، الهیات را با رویکرد عرفانی و اشراقی به پیش می‌برند. این رویکرد در همة ادیان طرفدارانی دارد و بر این باور است که الهیات صرفاً تبیین و توصیف آموزه‌های الهیاتی و در مرحلة بعد اثبات آن از طریق عقل و نقل نیست؛ بلکه مقصد و مقصود، شناخت و نیل به جانب حق تعالی، آن هم به‌واسطة اشراق الهی است. از پیروان این رویکرد در جهان مسیحیت، به پیروی از آگوستین، بوناونتورا (Bonaventure)، الهی‌دان مدرسی قرن سیزدهم است. بوناونتورا بر این باور است که بدون نور ایمان و اشراق الهی، هیچ نظام الهیاتی متقنی نمی‌توان به وجود آورد؛ یعنی انسان بدون اشراق خداوند توان شناخت و نیل به هیچ حقیقتی را ندارد. http://www.javidankherad.ir/article_32925_e276f77f5eb4b51b5852dc9a08092d47.pdf
